After a long listening process, Italian-born DJ and producer EDX, real name: Maurizio Colella, has announced the three winners for his global smash “D.A.N.C.E.” remix contest from over 700 submissions launched in February this year. The winners include Australian group Third Party with runners-up Andreas What from Switzerland and Arny from the Netherlands. All three winners will have a guaranteed global release on different world-leading record labels and will also be released on the upcoming EDX album ON THE EDGE: REMIX EDITION, (release date TBD). In the meantime, all the three winners will receive a pair of V-MODA headphones.

Playing a huge role in the EDM scene since the early years of the millennium, EDX put his mark on the world of melodic progressive house that has a true uniqueness. EDX will take his trademark sound across the U.S. this year with a spring tour, which takes the producer across various clubs and venues as well as a performance at Electric Daisy Carnival Chicago this weekend.

Currently residing in Switzerland, EDX has to date remixed some of the most notable names in the industry including Armin van Buuren, deadmau5, Kaskade, Bob Sinclar & Axwell, Benny Benassi and even Beyoncé, to name a few. Recently he has had the chance to remix Calvin Harris’s “Thinking About You” which will be released this summer. With such momentum gaining strength, he continues to share his love for the best progressive house in the scene.

May 24th marks the start of the first ever Electric Daisy Carnival Chicago. Thousands have campers have already started setting up tents at Chicagoland Speedway and gates open to the public at 5:00PM tomorrow.

Some must see acts of EDC Chicago include trance gods Above & Beyond and Kaskade on Friday, as well as progressive house legends David Guetta and Morgan Page. Saturday will host massive sets from the likes of Hardwell, Avicii, Fedde Le Grand, Mat Zo, Armin van Buuren, and Ferry Corsten. The weekend will commence with some favorites, Dash Berlin, Tiesto, Sander van Doorn, and Sebastian Ingrosso.

Fabrizio & Matteo Floris are the perfect duo of two Italian brothers better known as Mr. Bizz. Although young, they have been on a rapid rise due to early collaborations. Their 2009 production “Eternity” was featured on “The Ten Years Of Cocoon” compilation mixed by Dubfire and Loco Dice. 
In 2010, Mr. Bizz had already signed releases on big labels such as Tuning Spork and Resopal Schallware, remixes on Hakan Libdo, and EPs on Octopus Recordings, Deeperfect, and Material Series, along with remixes for the likes of Mauro Picotto, DJ Chus, Pig&Dan, Stefano Noferini and Yello,

In 2012, their EP “Exit” and “Broken” dominated the Beatport techno charts for weeks. Heavy beat patterns and dark vocal snaps, are the definition of Mr. Bizz.

First and foremost, thank you for the exclusive interview. What are you guys up to at the moment? I keep hearing about how you’re young talent, so if you don’t mind, how old are you guys and  how did you come up with Mr.Bizz? Who does what, and how do you motivate each other?

Musikbeats: Your sound is supported by some of the most prestigious international dj’s. How would you describe your sound? Let’s make it a little more interesting, what does techno mean to you?  

MR. BIZZ: Thank you too! Mr. Bizz is compost to Fabrizio 37 years old and Matteo 32 , We work together since a while under different names. We are well studio’s matched. Fabrizio is more in to the beat and Matteo in to the editing, but  this is not a rule!

Musikbeats: Describe your studio and what is your favorite thing/tool that you have in it?

MR. BIZZ: The heavy beat patterns and the dark vocals snaps are typical of us, they have defined our style. Our soul is techno!

Musikbeats: You’ve remixed DJ Chus,Mauro Picotto, Pig and Dan, Stefano Noferini, among other big names. Do you have a favorite remix or one that you’re most proud of and why?

MR. BIZZ: We have a small digital studio where we have classic equipment (laptops, studio monitors and soundcard) and two armchairs of course ahaha.

MusikBeats: One of your latest releases, “Reversion” EP, is under Dubfire’s legendary imprint SCI+TEC. How did the project come around, and do you  have any upcoming projects with the label?  

MR. BIZZ: We had the honor of meeting Dubfire in 2009. He chose one of our tracks “Eternity” for his compilation for Cocoon. From then on we have always enjoyed his appreciation and support regarding our production.  After some demos we proudly signed the first EP on Sci+Tec. We hope to work the label, a lot.

MusikBeats: I noticed you have Nicole Moudaber’s “Roar” on your “Mr. Bizz Reversion Chart.” I’m loving that. There can only be one “Queen of Techno,” but are there so few females in the scene? Paris Hilton doesn’t count!  What are your views on female producers and djs? 

MR. BIZZ: Yes, we love so much Nicole’s stuff and we also have massive respect for Monika Kruse. Their are a great example for all female producers and djs.

Musikbeats: Describe your ideal party. Who would you invite and who would you have as guest of honor working the decks? 

MR. BIZZ: We are clubbers, so parties are important because as djs, we do what we love, which is playing for the people!

We have had the pleasure playing with some big artists like Marco Bailey, Stefano Noferini, Kaiserdisco, Christian Smith, Sian and many more but our dream is working with Dubfire, so he would be the guest of honor.

MusikBeats: Are there any artists that you would love to collaborate with? 

MR. BIZZ: We are open minded for future collaborations and carry on working this way. Trusting several artists nowadays are giving us strong contributes in the techno scene.

MusikBeats: Aside from techy beats, what other genres are you digging at the moment? Any favorite tunes? 

MR. BIZZ: Our forward looking is Detroit’s drum hitted by funky basses and melodics synth’s riffs. Our last release on Sci+Tec we tried to move up this sound. Our favorite tune is from our buddies Pig & Dan “Savage”!

MusikBeats: You’ve dominated the Beatport techno charts with two EPs, not an easy task. What can we expect from Mr. Bizz in the upcoming months? 

MR. BIZZ: The future will reveal all our upcoming cards!! But we’re make two techno beats again!

Buzzed-about electronic/rock duo BLACK BOOTS released their new single “Streetwalker” yesterday on Ultra Music. And why wouldn’t they be, just look at these guys. It’s EDM meets punk and rock & roll – Daft Punk meets Rolling Stones.

The Las Vegas-based BLACK BOOTS—LIGHTKNIFE and MIKEY FRANCIS explore further into the depths of song and verse with “Streetwalker,” the follow-up single to “Flash Of Light.” On “Streetwalker,” shimmering synths build alongside MIKEY’s elegant delivery as the song swells into an irresistible refrain.
