Kaskade’s “Room For Happiness” Gets Two Videos

But do the two mixes really need it? Kaskade’s new single featuring singer Skylar Grey comes from his 2011 album Fire and Ice, but does the song really need two different videos for its original and ICE mixes? No, not really. The videos aren’t bad by any means, in fact, the ICE mix video is superb and incredibly fitting for the mood of the track. The video is dark and unfeeling, shrouded in deep violin melodies. Skylar Grey appears cold, blanket-less, in a rickety bed surrounded by chilling cement walls. Later the scene changes to a forest, killed by the frost, where Skylar continues to bless the forest with her stellar vocals, this time dressed in much warmer attire. The ICE mix is itself is completely different from the original; it’s a much more composed song that shows off how amazing of a producer Kaskade is. Simply put, “Room For Happiness” (ICE mix) is mesmerizing.

As for the original video, mainly snippets from the ICE mix were added along with clips of Kaskade performing at wall-to-wall packed events. The song isn’t my favorite from Kaskade, although I still think it’s a very pleasant house track. The video, however, doesn’t stray too far from the ICE mix and doesn’t add enough elements of originality to get excited over. All in all, Kaskade’s made two great mixes with an incredible vocalist and I’m looking forward to seeing what the duo will come up with next.
