Hot! Krewella “Alive” Video Now Available

The versatility of Chicago’s Krewella is truly amazing. The trio’s ‘Play Hard’ EP is sitting comfortably at #1 on Beatport‘s Album Chart and is now available at all digital retailers. The six-track EP will take you on a musical journey from one end of the spectrum to the other. The group just released a video for “Alive,” which is actually footage from a recent show in Daytona Beach, FL. I personally love the video because of the energy and enthusiasm the trio bring when performing. The crowd goes absolutely mental and it looked like one hell of a show. The video can be found below.

The combination of the irresistible vocals from sisters, Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf, and the dexterous production ability of Kris “Rain Man” Trindl; the group is breathing new life into EDM. Krewella is definitely on a path toward major success, having already gained rave reviews from the press:

“…the Chicago-reared trio seems to be on a direct trajectory to ever-expanding heights thanks to their infectious hybrid of powerful, pop-driven vocals and slick, energetic production. Jumping around the entire EDM spectrum while still keeping a solid footing in dubstep, Krewella have garnered a reputation for crafting party-starting jams that warp raucous lyrics, glistening melodies, monster drums, and big bass into frantic balls of dancefloor energy.”

-Beatportal (6/20/12)

“Chicago electronic trio Krewella performed mid-day on the first day of the first Spring Awakening Music Festival at Soldier Field, considered one of the best acts of the fest by most who had a chance to catch them.”

—Chicago RedEye (6/20/12)

“Six breathtaking tracks from all spectrums and sides of EDM, ranging from dubstep and electro to progressive and even moombahton…Play Hard’s title track is a hard-hitting electro house banger with Krewella’s signature wobbles and bass rolling over beautiful vocals. ‘Killin’ It’ is a vocal infused war-zone, a very ‘in your face,’ rage out track. ‘Can’t Control Myself’ is a light-hearted, vocal moombahton song with a surprisingly heavy drop…’Alive’ is a definite change up of style for the group, a soft progressive house anthem similar to ‘All I Ask of You’ by Skrillex. ‘One Minute’ is probably the closest to ‘old school’ Krewella on the album, a massive rollercoaster ride of a track…The group wraps up the EP in spectacular style with ‘Feel Me,’ a filthy, nasty, fireball of a track that sounds like a prettier version of Knife Party.”
