Loco Dice Named King of Space for Record-Breaking 16 Hour Set
Loco Dice, the German DJ and EDM producer, got his start as a Hip-Hop DJ and rapper supporting big names such as Ice Cube, R.Kelly and Snoop Dogg. But wait, Loco Dice doesn’t exactly fit the flow of these names. No, but his real name does. Dice Corleone, now that’s gangsta.
As is his music. EDM that is, which keeps the boldness of hip-hop mixed with intense techno flair. That was the case this past Saturday February 17th, 2013. Things got loco when Dice Corleone took over the DJ booth and set out to break his record of spinning for 16 hours. And he did.
He spun for almost 16 hours, coming on and off after the sunlight.
Queen of Space, Jackie Richie, even joked with him, rolling the dice on when they would close the door. He’s been her favorite for four years and counting. And since Loco Dice rolls with the punches and didn’t want to stop playing he wrote up a sign that said closing: one week. Only problem is everyone seemed to roll with it, and all the fans that stayed for the entirety of his set would probably stay too. Space has never sold out for a performance like this before, and with reason.
As the signs that surround the terrace clearly state, it’s the happiest place on earth. Tony the Tiger, Peter Pan, Pee-Wee Herman, Ronald McDonald are all there to advertise and affirm it is so.
As the night/day/next night drew to a close, Loco Dice made history and Jackie Richie crowned him king of Space.
May they be happily ever after…
